The young under 16 premier team were fired up after last week's close defeat to 7-1 Mersey Mavericks and despite a strong performance were looking to right their wrongs from the previous week. Both Sheffield & York gave each other problems on both ends of the floor making the game close throughout. 

The 1st quarter ended 16-14 to Elite and after a solid 2nd quarter Elite went into halftime up 6. U14 Forward, Ikenna Alisi showed his slashing ability once again getting to the rim and finishing consistently throughout the game. York showed heart despite having only 8 players and played hard for 40 minutes but after U15 guard Omar Safi put the team on his back with 14 points in the 4th quarter, Elite pulled away winning Q4 23-17 ending the game 74-62. 

Each week the U16’s are improving and showing lots of positive signs, the future is bright for this young group who had 59 out of the 74 points scored by players who will still be U16’s next season. The U16’s now have 3 weeks until their next game away to Trafford Magic who will no doubt be well drilled and a competitive matchup for the two young sides.
