After a narrow 2 point defeat last week to league front runners Tameside, Elite were looking to bounce back and get a win. Stockport, who despite being 1-4 seemed to be a matchup problem due to the multiple bigs they had whilst Sheffield were missing the 4 biggest players in the squad due to injuries and other availability issues. 

Sheffield started very poorly in the 1st quarter and went down 14-22 to end Q1. Elite came out with energy and stepped up the intensity on the defensive end with Charlie Stoddart and Miklos Zalavari forcing multiple turnovers leading to multiple dunks, alongside 3 3’s in the quarter from Tom Morey. Sheffield managed to feed off the energy from the crowd to go into half time up 40-36. 

The second half went toe to toe with both teams effectively using their own advantage, with Stockport using their size advantage and mismatches in the post and Sheffield using their youth and speed advantage getting out on the break. Elite won the 3rd by 4 to put them up 8 going into Q4. Stockport won the 4th bringing the game to within 4 in the final minutes but Sheffield just about hung on for a good win, despite less than ideal circumstances regarding personnel and, a scrapy, heated game, the young Elite team got the game over the line.
