About us

Sheffield Elite Basketball Academy was formed in 2021 by Aidan Appleyard, Tom Morey and Brad Connor.

Aidan, Tom and Brad are coaches at The Sheffield College Basketball Academy and they formed the Sheffield Elite programme to provide players in Sheffield with the best pathway for them to develop. Whilst Sheffield Elite do work closely with The Sheffield College in regards to coaching staff and playing venue, they are 2 separate entities. 

The former Sheffield Sabres teamed up with Extra Mile Basketball and The Sheffield College to form Sheffield Elite Basketball Academy rebranding the Division 3 Sheffield Sabres to Sheffield Elite and creating a junior national League programme to feed into the college and Men’s team.
